Two years following the brutal murders of her mother, brother, and nephew; Singer and Academy Award-winning Actress Jennifer Hudson finally feels at peace to speak. The Chicago native has slowly been letting her fans and media back into her life through her music, but has yet to open up about the tragic event that lead to her musical hiatus–until now. “It’s like a blur,” she stated In a recent interview. Hudson revealed the reality of her depression from the loss, and how she learned to cope, ”For almost two weeks straight… [I was] inside one room with just family and friends coming in and out…I prayed when I’d get up in the morning and prayed before I laid down at night.”
Now a mother, she’s found more than one way to commemorate her lost ones. She speaks of channeling her mother’s great guidance and how everyday she’s happily reminded of the love of her mom because of the love she shares for her son.
Hudson’s mother, Darnell Donerson, 57, and brother Jason Hudson, 29, were found shot to death in October of 2008 in South Side Chicago . The body of Hudson’s 7-year-old nephew Julian was found three days later in an SUV.
